A playgroup is a group of parents, caregivers and extended family who come together with their babies and young children to learn through play. It’s a fun and relaxed environment where children can socialise and explore, while adults can also connect, share experiences and support one another.
Playgroups meet in a variety of local venues such as community centres, schools and libraries, bringing families together right in their community.
Each playgroup is independently run by volunteers so every group is different, and there's something for everyone.
At Playgroup WA, we support, connect and advocate for playgroups across the state.
We help families find the right fit and provide tools and resources to help groups run smoothly.
Families pay a small weekly fee (usually under $5) to their group, plus an annual Playgroup WA membership ($35 or $15 concession) which covers insurance and gives access to play ideas, events, discounts, and more.
With hundreds of playgroups in WA, there’s likely one near you!
