BENEFIT

Young children learn to identify basic feelings like happy, sad, angry, and scared. Recognising emotions is a key part of early mental health. Naming feelings helps children understand themselves and others and is the first step in learning how to manage emotions

WHAT YOU NEED:
  • Music from George's song on the video
  • Music for 'If You are Happy and You Know It'
WHAT TO DO:
  • Listen to George’s song. Sing along.
  • You can also listen to 'If You are Happy and You Know It' then lead the children to change the words and their facial expressions to match the emotion.
USE DIFFERENT EMOTIONS:
  • Sad and you know it cry a tear
  • Angry and you know it stomp your feet
  • Happy and you know it do a dance
  • Scared and you know it give yourself a cuddle
