Colour Scavenger Hunt
Children love to find things! This activity is perfect to do whether you’re inside or outside and is great for young kids across all ages.
What you need:
- Sheets of different coloured paper
Take the coloured paper and place them on the floor near each other. If lots of children are playing secure the paper to the floor with a little bit of sticky tape.
Once the sheets are secure it’s time to go on a scavenger hunt with the kids. Encourage them to collect items that match the coloured paper. Yellow items go on the yellow paper, blue items on the blue paper etc.
Take it outside!
Why not head outside and go on a colour walk? Little ones will love going on a scavenger hunt to collect colourful items from nature! These more focused walks are an excellent way to encourage kids to explore nature and really study the things around them.
Extension Idea:
Talk to your child about the colours as you match the items to the paper. Talk about things that are the same and items that are different.
