PlayConnect+ Bunbury Lead Facilitator
- 4 hours per week
- Location: Bunbury
- SCHADS Level 4
Duties Include:
- Guide and oversee the operation of the playgroup
- Plan inclusive and culturally appropriate play-based activities for children and their adult caregivers and implement activities and experiences during playgroup sessions
- Mentor and coach other staff in building knowledge and skills to assist them in their roles
- Welcome new families and provide information and support to all parents/caregivers to assist them in participating in play and developmentally appropriate experiences with their young children
- Encourage families to attend regularly
- Consult with and get input from families about the activities and management of the playgroup
- Work with and encourage families to assist with the playgroup organisation and routine tasks
- Support families to connect and build positive relationships with schools and enhance school readiness
- Ensure that the playgroup environment is safe and report any unsafe toys, equipment or other items
Planning and Reporting
- Lead the planning and facilitation of playgroup sessions
- Responsible for program reporting requirements
- Collect and collate evaluation data and maintain program records in a safe and confidential manner
- Maintain expenditure records and receipts
Work with the PlayConnect+ Coordinator to:
- Maintain networks with relevant community services and organisations as required
- Plan and schedule playgroup incursions and excursions in consultation with the PlayConnect + Coordinator
- Actively identify and implement strategies to facilitate the relationship of families with the local community and services available
- Promote the playgroup within the local community
Essential Criteria
- A minimum qualification level of Diploma or an equivalent of 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Substantial knowledge or experience in supporting the development of children with disability or developmental concerns aged 0-8 years.
- Ability to build strong and trusting relationships with local community services
- Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering developmentally and appropriate activities for young children with disability or developmental concerns.
- Experience in mentoring other staff.
- Experience in reporting against organisational requirements
- Ability to work collaboratively with services and organisations supporting families and young children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy and the ability to use Microsoft Office applications
Essential Requirements
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current Police Clearance
- Current valid Driver’s Licence for use in WA
- Current First Aid Certificate
Desirable Requirements
- Lived experience as a parent/carer of a child with a disability or developmental concerns
